From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 10pm-3am on Thursdays Hmmm where to start? Obviously not at the advertised starting time! Even the staff at the hotel said it was rumoured to start at 9pm. By 9:15 the hosts finally arrive and put 4 books out on the empty tables, ignoring the only table with anyone at it. The books are a disgrace with no real order to them. Some pages were in song order, some in artist order, some were blank and some simply fell on the floor when you pick up the book! They then take a half hour break, returning only briefly to tell one person how to put in a song before returning to their break. Four singers put in a couple of songs each and no sign of the people running the gig for at least another 15 mins! Singer rotation must be something that happens to other people as there was no attempt to put the singers in any sort of order. At the beginning of the night, the song order was simply how they appeared on the list, so singers who put three songs in a row on the list, sang three songs in a row! This "system" went out the window after the third musical break when a new person walked in and got a song without having reached her table whilst others waited for songs. After the 4th break and still waiting for a song while others had 3 or more in between, I gave up and left. The quality of the discs was also appalling, in fact I had seen these brands in the bargain bin at the local Reject Shop. The only positive I could find was the sound system wasn't too bad but there was no attempt to try and use it properly with the music/microphone balance appearing to happen purely by accident. Seriously one of the worst karaoke gigs I've seen in many many years.
