I can only comment on the venue and not the karaoke. Recently my hubby and I decided to travel for a long weekend and ended up in Melbourne. ( loved Melbourne). From this web site I had already worked out the karaokes we would attend, from the Thursday overnight stop over in Albury to the Fri and Sat night ones at our destination. While visiting the sites we thought to have a look at the venue we had chosen for our Saturday night out and so glad we did! It is down an Alley, the sort you could so easily imagine being mugged in, there were rats around rubbish skips, a smell you had to hold your breath for, a XXXX venue at the far end of the Alley with shady looking men in long coats leaving it holding packages in brown paper. The outside of the Charlton club building was dirtry+++with many broken windows that had pieces of cardboard placed against which looked as though they had been there for many years! My hubby, a big 'not much scares him' Maori just couldn't get out of there fast enough but as discusted as I was I was also intrigued and insisted on taking a look inside. We knew within a micro second of traveling in the old wobbly lift and walking out into a very large musty smelly room with a floor that wasuneven with carpet that was not even laid properly, even at this time of day it was sooo dark and scary looking. We felt as though we had ventured onto a movie set for a really dark seedy movie. We saw the karaoke machine in the corner and saw a white board that had 2 A4 sheets of paper stuck to it and when asked the fellow pulling aircon wires out of a 2" of dust coated air con' vent' if that was the karaoke song list he indicated that it was. How this place gets past the fire and safety people I have no idea because if there was a fire the only way out was that old lift and you are several floors up! We didn't go back there that night for karaoke and I do not recommend the venue to anyone.
