weekly 8pm-Midnight on Saturdays

This venue changed operators starting Sat 24/09 and I for one think it was a bad move. The previous hosts were snappy, vibrant girls who sang well, carried loads of enthusiasm and most importantly in a venue like this, did well to get the mostly shy crowd up and singing. The new company that's been haded the gig is Planet Karaoke (they used to run the Tea Gardens at Bondi Junction if anyone remembers) and it seems as though the guy they've chosen either doesn't know what he's doing or has never hosted before. Nothing against the guy, he seems really nice. Trouble is, he's not very prepared. There is a wait of several minutes between songs (or maybe it's just his choice to have disco music in between songs), mixed up a few songs while I was there and generally slows the pace of the whole night down. This was a place that thrived on up-tempo songs and the pace of the night raced. Now, you could go out for a smoke, take a wizz, chat up someone upstairs and not really miss anything. I don't feel as though this will be a big money spinner for the Bristol, I hope they changed operators for a cheeper price, cause I won't be back here...
