From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 8pm-11:30pm on Tuesdays I'm a great supporter of most karaoke operators, but I've got to make this observation re the Karaoke Show at Easts Leagues Club every Tuesdays. I love Trish dearly and she and her daughter do their best, but at the end of the day, the entire effort is let down with a really bad sound set up, a very dirty and smelly old battered mic (hard wired) with out a pop shield, and a static selection of songs. All this with white lighting spots and a black cloth curtain back drop, makes for a disappointing karaoke experience. I say this with the utmost humility to Trish as she has been very generous to myself and my girl friend with prizes etc, and I in no way want to make this a put down. I believe with a fresh approach, a rejig to the sound especially the fold back, some sexy lighting, and a backdrop with at least a logo on it, plus a UHF mic set up, with replaceable pop shields (yes karaoke singers do carry viruses, colds, and other bacteria that just love to breed on microphone mesh). Trish could also have the show set up to start immediately after the previous feature, which ends at 7.00pm and attracts a good audience. Like I say, I would love to see Trish's karaoke show get stronger and better, but it is really going to be lost, along with the small audience that currently attends it, if something isn't improved soon. Easts are not very supportive I admit, so most of the marketing and advertising will have to be done by the operator herself, as the interest in karaoke around the Junction is huge as can be seen by the number of venues, who choose to incorporate it into their entertainment schedules. Sorry Trish, but if you want to compete with the other pubs and clubs around that area, you're gonna have to lift it.
