From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 9pm-Midnight on Saturdays Last week I went to Entain's gig, and they had one host who didnt know what she was doing with sound, and had no hosting skills what so ever. The speakers were well forward of the singer and without foldback, the sound was disappointing. The footy-watching crowd were pretty drunk when the karaoke started in a corner of the main bar at around 9:30 but that corner was filled with a few karaoke devotees who were trying to make a show of it.The songlist is well under par in its selection in today's market and the sound was dull and overshadowed by the noisy crowd. Even the couple of in-tune singers seemed unable to get much clarity or volume going, and when I sang I found the same problem - no matter how loud i sang, i couldnt hear myself. The sound was muddy and seemed lost in an audience that was only a metre away. This is a venue that used to go off with a bang when the previous guy ran it, but this new chick doesnt seem to have much control. However, it's a normal friendly crowd, high drink prices , pleasant venue, and plenty of on-street free parking. I passed another gig on the way to this one, and I wouldn't make that mistake again. Entain has been in business for years, and perhaps the only question is how it can get its sound so wrong when it used to be good.
