From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 8pm-11:30pm on Tuesdays Lolz, I go to this show sometimes and I know exactly who Keithai is! He comes every week and tells evryone to go to his karaoke gig and gives weird speeches on mic before he sings lol. Easts is a fun, non-competitive karaoke night, and the sound is great, with professional and tough mics - which is crucial in a drinking establishment! I've sung in heaps of covers bands and I've never heard of using a pop shield live on stage - recording studios use them on their super sensitive mics so singers can't blow on them and make "pop"-ing noises. At Easts they spray the mics with Glen 20 like most rehearsal studios I've ever been to - guaranteed to kill more bacteria than a piece of stocking, even if the smell is a bit of a shock when it's just been sprayed!. The family group that runs it always remembers my name even when I don't come for awhile, and they regularly have new stuff (mainly top 40 compilations but I know they've got artist discs in specifically for regulars in the past). They take a lot of care with the settings for each singer's voice and they remember them week to week, which I've never really seen in a karaoke set-up before - but it makes a big difference! They also don't spend the whole night singing, unlike many many other karaoke hosts who lurve to hear the sound of their own voices! It's a much friendlier crowd than a lot if the others and a much more relaxed vibe.
