Caz's Magpies experience part (1) Based on the reviews regarding this Karaoke my husband and I thought that we would travel from penrith and stay in the ACT for the weekend and try a new, fairly positively reviewed karaoke........We wasted a lot of time and money! This place is the pits!! Worst karaoke we have ever been to and we have been to many!! Firstly you pay $1 at the front desk when signing in for being an "out of state" visitor. That was ok at the time but now to think that we actually paid to have our senses insulted....that's another thing. The sound, well what can you say when throughout every song we heard there was a high pitched, ear bursting feed back coming through the speakers. The host (s) / operator (s) I think there were 3, can't be sure....2 of them were dressed in loud Hawaiian themed shirts (but it wasn't fancy dress). I found one of the 2 song books doing the rounds then after working out the song we were going to sing, ( I say song because at this point we realized that the patron who was singing when we arrived sang again back to back songs and now for the 3rd time in 25 min's was singing again even though i had seen a 3 page long request list in one of the Hawaiian shirt peoples hands). So I asked one of the shirts, where do we put our name down and she said that there was a list .....'somewhere'! Yes it was somewhere...I searched and found it, the locals put their name and songs down over 5 pages and sometimes back to back up to 5 even 6 song requests then hand it to the next who did the same. When I finally got my hands on it I put down our request and we waited.
