From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 9pm-1am on Fridays I had to travel to south of Adelaide recently and found this gig on W2S. I had to ring ahead and check that it was still running as the listing had not been updated since May 2009.(I updated it for you Allison) The pub is modern and the food and service is excellent but drink prices are expensive compared to NSW. I am a karaoke host myself and admit i was somewhat dissapointed with the karaoke set up. It was in the back corner of the room with the speakers way out front of a small screen that was on the right, turned sideways to the singer and a big screen on the back wall, but in the centre of the room. The sound was great from a spectators point of view, but not for the singer unless you came out front of the speakers and turned your back to the crowd in order to read the large screen at the back of the room. The crowd was friendly and supportive and a generally good night was had by all, BUT!!!. The hosts need to refine their skills somewhat to improve this venue. The main hostess was somewhat flat and lacked enthusiasm and the sound desk girl kept mucking up songs. When i spoke to her about changing my song as someone was already singing the one i selected, she replied with some potty mouthed answer about not giving a sh--, and suggested i talk to the girl in charge of the list. Yes that's right, a third girl who had written us down two songs apart and didn't pick up on the fact that we were singing the same song, how that became my fault is beyond me? Needless to say we left early. Goodluck Allison and i hope you are open to improvement.
