PART 2 OF 2 GRAND FINAL The final will be held on Saturday 9th July commencing at 8:00pm sharp, registrations accepted from 7:30pm. All contestants will be asked to submit 3 songs on slips identified as R1, R2 & R3. The format will be as follows: Round 1. – All 26 finalists will sing their 1st song. R1 slips to be drawn randomly . from a barrel. Round 2. – All 26 finalists will sing their 2nd song. R2 slips will be announced in the . reverse order of R1. Round 3. – The top 10 scoring finalists will sing their 3rd song. R3 slips to be . drawn randomly from a barrel. The final will be judged by 4 independent, club appointed guests. Judges will score between 1 and 40 points for each round. Scores will be totalled by the chief judge & cross checked by the host, but will remain undisclosed. The highest cumulative score ( Incl Bonus points ) across all 3 rounds will determine the winner. No conversation or discussion on the outcome will be entered into. BONUS POINTS Bonus points are available to all finalists & may be earned as follows: 1 bonus point will be awarded to a finalist for each heat they attend above the required 8 qualification heats. Consequently a maximum of 18 bonus points are available if all 26 heats were to be attended. Each finalist’s points will be added to the judges point score at the end of round 2 & as such, may influence the outcome of the top 10 & ultimately even the winner. Bonus point rules have been disclosed well in advance of the commencement of the competition & as such it is deemed that all contestants share the same opportunity to earn said bonus points. Being unaware of the rules is no excuse.
