From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 8pm-Midnight on Saturdays PART 2 --- This is a crowd that are respectful, appreciative and support their local and the entertainment it provides in a big way. This all leads to the most important feature of a karaoke gig: atmosphere. This place is dripping with it and while some singers have a great set of pipes, others are so bad that the host turns the backing track of the song up; the singer seemingly appreciative that she has a vocal guide to follow. Rotations are also bullet proof spot on; no one gets more than one song per round despite duets and you could set your watch as to when you were up next, though this is helped by the majority of the people who want to sing having put a song down by round 2. It was very easy to get wrapped up in the enjoyment everyone was having and it wasn't long at all before I stopped thinking about the hosting style and the sound quality, it simply became unimportant. Muswellbrook is 4 hours north west of Sydney and I have to say, if it was a mere 2, I would seriously consider popping up once a month or so. Despite that, taking a trip up to the Hunter a few times a year seems so much more attractive with the knowledge that I've got this venue (one that is far more enjoyable than a lot of venues down here in Sydney) waiting for me.
