The simply fact of the matter is that a karaoke gig that is not financially viable does not survive so singers have a choice: they can put their money where there mouth is and fund the show (about a $100 per person in your 6 person group would be a great start) or sit back and be thankful that there are 70 other people in the room helping to spread the cost burden around so you only have to spend $20. Just as long as those 70 people don't sing I guess.
