If you haven't been to the Diggers before I can understand the frustration of being told the books are full early in the night. The regular singers are aware of this situation and will arrive early to put down their song request, they know if they are singing 1st, 2nd or 3rd bracket. They will often play the Pokies or eat in the Bistro, what they do before or after their turn to sing doesn't worry us. The audience is made up of Karaoke Singers and a large Dance Crowd which gives us a total of 250-300 Patrons every Saturday Night. After 23 years at the venue it's still difficult to keep everyone happy, we can only try our best. I guess you could say it attracts Singers who want to enter the Comp or those who are happy to sing one song, it's not going to suit everyone!! Audience size on a Wednesday Night is 75-95 Patrons, it is a mixture of Asian/English Karaoke with no dance breaks, The Asian songs go for a long time, as there is a instrumental in the middle of the song. The singers know I am at the Club early and some will call in on their way home from work to put down their name and will come back later. Last night we had 48 singers who sang one song each, time simply runs out.
