From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 8pm-Midnight on Fridays What makes my Blood Boil is that some Karaoke Places have become " gossip factories". When did going to karaoke entail turning up and sniping and critisizing others clothes, personal lives and singing styles? Is this the true meaning of Karaoke? I thought it was to " sing and enjoy yourselves" and the side benefit being that if the audience enjoys then you can have a great night. Audience participation is what keeps me going. Its what makes me want to get up and sing, and hear others singing along with me or coming up after and saying" I really enjoyed that " even if they will never be game enough to want to get up and sing themselves. Not applauding someone when that singer can see you in the audience and talking while they are singing and making comments about them so they can be heard by the singer during the song is the Hide Of Ignorance, or maybe I was just brought up by a family who taught me to respect others. I know for a fact, I wont lower my standards to their level though. Honour and respect yourself and maybe you can teach someone out there to do the same, Maybe.
