From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs:
This karaoke gig runs
weekly 8pm-Midnight on Saturdays

I was supposed to meet friends at Caringbah RSL tonight, and what should happen? I bloody ended up in Bizzos, which is right next door to the RSL. It's 10.33pm and I'm back home, so what does that tell you? I walked through the front entrance of Bizzos, unknowingly. I only found out I was in the wrong club when I got home and spoke with my sister, who called me from the right club - Caringbah RSL. Apparently, the RSL is fabulous, which my sister confirmed and she's rather fussy. Anyway, back to the review of Bizzos. What can I say. It was dingy beyond words. I was dressed well and felt really silly because the few people that were there looked like they'd just walked up from Cronulla beach and sat down for a beer or six! There was an old girl singing a tune and about 10 (or thereabouts) other people there. The atmosphere was seamy, for want of a better word. I read here earlier today that the club has a comp going and a nice trip for two to Queensland as first prize. One would think this would bring some serious singers to the club, however, all I saw was a bunch of oldies spinning yarns that are probably only told whilst intoxicated and only tolerated when the listeners are blotto! I didn't know which door to take quicker - I just wanted to get out of there. The club is run down and has a real geriatric feel about it. Not that I have anything against old people, but, in general, they don't make much of an effort and they bring a depressing vibe with them. I drove a fair distance to get there - to Caringbah - and I can't ever see myself going back. The sound was too raw for my liking and there's no stage for the performer to shine on. I didn't see the song menu, so I can't comment as to size and song variety. I guess you'd get more than three songs, judging from the size of the crowd. Seating is pub like - high stools (very few) and high drinking slabs. Overall, very disappointing and low. If you choose to go, dress really daggy and take a cushion to sit on. Well, my sister's at Caringbah RSL - where I should have been. Beware! If you should wander into Bizzos by accident (as I did), right next door is the real deal - the RSL. I made the mistake of not knowing the clubs are neighbours and bolted to my car and drove out of there like a bat out of hell. If you decide to head over Caringbah way, don't sign-in at the wrong club because it may very well put you off karaoke for good!
