From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 6pm-10pm on Sundays Just about everyone who comes to this venue knws that Mick is Irish and everthing that he says that has a "th" on it sounds like just a "t". "Thirty" sounds like "tirty" and so on. Well you can imagine the problem that he would have with the name "Ruth" - yes it comes out "Root". So between Cathy, Toni, Joe and myself we planned to have Joe dress up in drag and turn up as "Ruth". What we didn't know (or expect) was that last night a lady by then name of Ruth actually came in and put a song in to sing. Joe didn't know what to do, but seeing as all the plans had been laid, he sent Mick out to the poker machine area for a smoke, Joe took over to comparing for a while and got the real Ruth up to sing while Mick was out of the room. Then not long before the end of the first round, Joe pretended to get a phone call from home, he, Toni and Cathy disappeared and I told Mick that Joe had to leave for a few minutes. About 10 minutes later, "Ruth" appeared (Joe in drag) well I have never seen anything so funny. He had shaved his moustache and goatee beard off in that time and anyone that didn't know any better would have sworn that it was a woman!! He wore black and a long blonde wig, he looked good!! He sang "Barbie Girl". Mick didn't know what to do, but Joe said that he finally got one back on him. Good one Joe. There will be a Christmas party on at this club next Sunday, so if you would like to come wear your Santa hats, T-shirts, or whatever you like that is Christmas related. There is still one more surprise to come next week, and it is NOT related to the Christmas party.
