From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs:
This karaoke gig runs
weekly 10pm-2pm on Saturdays

I know I am gonna be shot down for this but Grumpies is just not happening. They keep blaming the renovations but they are finished now. The renovations had begun when the original karaoke were there and they managed to still fill the place. Sure, the pub now looks swish, actually it looks great, nice colour scheme and decor. Nice beer garden, open and lavish BUT the karaoke area. Oh the Karaoke area. Especially on the so called "Opening Night". Someone here has no idea! The Pub or the Karaoke company. The karaoke was still being held in the 'old mans' section which is ablaze with Fluro, wires still on display. There was a smattering of people in the beer garden and a few young ones on the pokies. At first count there were five singers including the Host. There were more people in the beer garden! A few singers finally moved into the karaoke area. But after a couple of songs some of the newer singers left. Some more arrived but its really not pumping. The reason some of those people were there in the first place was to try and support the opening of the Hotel. (by the way they sdtayed outside and played cards because of the "din" coming from the karaoke). I'm sure the Licencee was underwhelmed by the "Grand Opening". If, and I say IF, they move the karaoke into the new section (as was told it was going to be) I hope the sound quality will be a little better. The Host is a quite nice but I don't think he has any real idea about sound quality. The singers tinny and far too loud over the soft music. The host doesn't seem to notice this. The speakers are down too low and the size that place is now they could afford to be placed higher. This is not one of Rob's better shows and I dont think it will ever be. This karaoke company has had months to make it work. I will be surprised if this venue keeps the karaoke at all. No one seemed overly interested in it, not one bit. Grand Openings are not meant to be like this.
