Hi all, I went to the irish club on fri night for the Finals, Had a great meal and a few drinks on the house (with the vouchers i had won 2 weeks ago in a heat), the venue gets really crowded and on this occasion it started off quiet but as always , ended up with a big croud. Anyways it started off with open mics untill the comp started at 10;30pm and amazingly , i got to do 2 songs in that time( usually you are lucky to get 2 songs in a whole night because of the amount of people there). the comp started and Bummer, i was drawn out as first singer so i got up , sang James Blunt/ Wisemen, not a really good songchoice for first song of the night, Bugger all Croud response, the next 5 ppl got the same responce, then i heard that most of the crowd was a rent a croud that were there to support just one singer, This rent-a-crowd boo-d ppl off, deliberatly never clapped for anyone else, but when the singer that they were there to support got up to sing, they rushed to the dancefloor applauding and cheering, this put a lot of ppl off and being nearly half the crowd, made it unfair on the other singers. Ok i admit that there were a lot of better singers on the night than i was and im not whinging that i never came a place, but guys if your are at a comp to support a singer, atleast show a little respect for the other singers, dont try to sway judges by giving great crowd responce to 1 person and absolutely none to others. Overall it was a good night with the hosts being very friendly and doing a great job, and also the singing talent there is awsome, the track list could do with a few more songs (maybe im whinging because there wasnt much in the way of music i like) and the sound there is great, i would recomend the irish club anytime.
