From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly unknown-unknown on Saturdays Came here a couple of nights ago or St Patrick's Day. Big venue, with great food, one of those nice modern low buildings designed to provide entertainment and food for the whole family, Karaoke is held in the back bar, modern surroundings with plasma screens and an outside area to get away from the sound. Really well presented and good songlist sorted by both Song and Artist. 3 hosts (one in training) meant that the staff nearly outnumbered the customers, but more people came in as the night progressed. Seems like just the locals having a go, and a wide range of age and singing talent, but wholehearted applause for all. Maybe an 'off' night for the sound because it seemed as though big speakers were being run from an amp way underpowered, resulting in a huge amount of booming base that reverberated off the windows and forced one to sit more in the middle of the room (or, better, outside..lol). The problems with the sound were much more evident when singing, the base so booming and with so little 'mid range' that the melody was all but lost - making it extremely difficult to sing in synch other than following the timing of the words on screen - I suspect a borrowed amp was being used for the night as this could not be the normal quality and retain regular singers. The great songlist combined with the very few singers but 20-30 size appreciative crowd makes this a good venue for those who like a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of opportunity to sing. Oh, and nice cordless mics.
