One of the vedry few places to go on a Monday night, and happily a great venue. Large open bar extending outside in two directions, great food, friendly and efficient bar service, and good karaoke. Last time I was here is was quite busy with an hour to wait between songs, but this time had just a small crowd and a rotation of about 6-8 people. There's always a good non-singing audience thanks to the venue's location and reputation for good food, and the stage is positioned where everyone can (and does) watch. The songlist is extensive, being housed in two books on a table near the stage, and the host's console is to one side of the stage. Efficient and very friendly hosts, always asking for applause - and getting a token response for the lesser talented singers but a good response for the better singers - of which there were many. Most of the crowd is older, but noticeably there were about half a dozen young people - one of which was a great singer. The FOH sound is better than the on-stage sound, something that happens at a lot of gigs, but the overall sound was a lot better than last time I was here. The combination of good sound, friendly hosting with extensive songlist, and quality venue with a friendly crowd makes this a venue worth the travel on a Monday.
