From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 7:30pm-10:30pm on Tuesdays Tucked away off the main road, so be sure that you check the street address. Friendly suburban RSL obviously extensively modernised and attracting a local crowd plus a few karaoke devotees - and this is reflected in the quality of singing. Cheap (but not huge) meals, and the karaoke is held upstairs in an area with plenty of tables and chairs. It's busy until about 9pm when the meat raffles are drawn, then the crowd reduces to 20-30. Nice stage, good equipment and sound - and is one of those rare venues where the foldback is good (points across the stage at both the singer and the host) and therefore the on-stage experience is as good as FOH. The husband and wife hosting team splits duties between hosting (he) and being techie (she), and run a tight ship. Rotation seemed to be rather variable, and there's a multi-venue comp running with the chance to win a trip to Nashville and have a CD recorded. The songbook is well-presented and holds a generous number of songs, though many I searched - and particularly anything recent - seemed to be missing. The crowd is almost exclusively mature, the songs are almost all slow with many being country, and this is a place for an extremely relaxed night.
