From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 8:30`pm-Midnight on Sundays Bar is in a shopping arcade, but is probably the best example of a custom built Irish pub - with interesting areas and extremely well designed so that the entertainment is at one end of the pub in a large area. Big stage, and the venue's sound system is excellent, speakers arranged so that the whole area is filled with sound (my previous experience is that sound on stage was lacking, however). The songbook was extensive, and the hosts (last time it was the owners of the business - this time it was two male employees) were perfunctory in their hosting. Security here is excellent with scanning of everyone's ID, and the barstaff is similarly top-notch. All people working here seemed to have been superbly trained, and the whole venue is well-presented, well-staffed, and very efficiently run. The hosts were calling for singers, and although I put my name down with a 1980's upbeat number suiting the predominently young crowd, I was somehow missed in the rotation despite one of the hosts singing. The singers seemed far out of rotation and were possibly selected for the shout or scream songs that they had chosen - after the first hour none of the older singers seemed to be in the rotation, and in two hours the venue was almost exclusively a young dance venue with sound loud enough to preclude even shouted conversation. This appears to be a place that would attract a young crowd no matter what entertainment is run, and with such a random rotation is worth keeping in mind only if in the area on a Sunday night with no other option for karaoke.
