This karaoke gig runs
weekly 11pm-5am on Saturdays

A long bar on the corner which has long held karaoke, this has been nicely refurbished and attracts a local' crowd when it opens around 10pm. Karaoke seems to start around 11pm, and soon the local crowd disappears to be replaced by those who enjoy karaoke - though the singers are generally just social singers 'having a go'. There's a small stage in the corner, and although the sound is reasonable, it does sound rather like singing at the end of a long tunnel - the positioning of the speakers appears rather random. The host is a really lively and friendly younger guy, the songlist extensive, and the rotation accurate and quick. The barstaff and security are efficient, and some younger ones heading to the nightclub upstairs do linger in the karaoke bar downstairs. Although a friendly enough place, no one was particularly interested in making conversation - but the strength of this karaoke is that it continues well into the morning hour
