From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly unknown-unknown on Saturdays Arrived too late for the grand final of their competition, so we missed seeing the talent. Boy this venue has changed since we had our shows here in 2003. All the old TV's & stage had been removed to make way for Plasma's above where the singers stand for the crowd to see. The stage used to be small so the singer didn't have much room to move around, now no stage just the floor. If you are a short singer, abit hard to see you from the back of the room, but hey...not a prob. I admit I did have a cringe when a song came on that had a massive amount of bass that rang though your body but the operator picked up on it soon enough & adjusted accordingly. We put our slips in together & waited about 40 or so minutes to have a turn, called me up, sang my song & thought my hubby James would be next but he waited another 5-6 singers before his turn so I don't know what happened to the rotation there. Anyways the operators for the night were Ben & Chris, Chris more a social butterfly, but they took turns at comparing & operating the system. All good. I went outside & introduced myself to Hemmi who was having a night off & having a few Bundy's, he was very pleasant & happy to chat to me. After my Ciggy & James turn to sing, I sat at the bar & Ben came over to me & complimented James as he sang. Hemmi came in & we chatted at the bar some more about "hosts stuff" & he was quite the gent, even asked where we played so he could check us out when he gets a night off. Hemmi asked me to be honest in my comments here as any positives & negatives could be taken on board to improve on, which I thought was very professional. Nothing worse than a host who "sucks up" to get a good rap. Not the case here, so Thumbs Up to Hemmi & crew for their professionalism & a fun night to bring in my Birthday..thanks again!
