I have never been to a Saturday but have been when Jason filled in. No, he is not as good as Michael but he is still new, not just to Kellys but to hosting. He does try. Kellys is a hard gig and Michael has got it going well through a lot of hard work, it takes months and months to work it out as Kellys everchanging crowd makes things difficult. Michael still has nights which are a mess as it can be quite un-predictable. Even when Rob took over for a few weeks it took him a couple of gigs to get back in the swing. An earlier start would be nice but you have to realise it is a long night already. Rob and Michael did try starting at 9 a while back and it didn't really pull anyone in rather scared off the late after work drinkers especially when Carl got up (sorry Carl, I do love you). I found last Friday a bit tiresome as it was 1.5 hours plus for the first round, there wasn't really any regulars there and it wasn't that busy, but as a previous singer said Michael is much quicker with his singer turnover and Fridays need that. As for "Cheeky", I have never really heard a bad sound at Kellys, especially not since Rob installed the fitted speakers. Maybe you should check out some other venues and learn what bad sound really is.
