From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 9pm-1am on Saturdays Hi Leather Baron the way this is managed is quite simple. As new singers arrive in the second round we add there name to the end of the list for the third round and slot them in after say 5 o 6 singers have sang in that round. I then tell the crowd on the mic that I will just be slotting in a singer .It seams to be the fair way of doing it and most people are happy with that.Using the whiteboard helps when it comes to people that turn up at the end of the night say 15 minutes before the end of the show and wish to sing.It helps to explain to them why at this late stage it is hard now to slot them in. the show has grown quite fast and we are planning to close the books some time in the later part of the night to make sure the singers that put a song in get a chance of being able to sing it. We do sometime go over time to try and race to the end of that round. I think we are very fair and will be trying all possible to make sure every one is given a fair go. If it gets to the stage that we need to extend the show we will talk to the venue about that and see if a 6 hour show is more suitable.the show starts at 9pm and goes to 1am and the venue is open till 4am so there is room to move each way. Thankyou for your question I hope I was able to help you.
