I've been to this venue before, both to sing (most recently making the Finals of the Flori-Idol contest) and just to socialise and I find it a friendly environment. While I think the comment about only choosing friends and regulars is inaccurate (I am neither) it is a very busy venue and if you don't get your name on the list early (ie, before 10pm) you will miss out - people who go regularly would be aware of that and this is why it probably appeared that way to Mickeymo. That said, it can be a less than enthusiastic crowd if you're not with friends or are not a decent singer and the fact that the karaoke area opens on to the sports bar area (where people get very loud particularly when the footy's on) can make for a less than fun experience at times. However, I like the casual atmosphere of this venue, although their songlist leaves something to be desired compared to other operators, and the website songlist is out of date.
