From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 7:30pm-Midnight on Thursdays Just a comment on the judging which were posted! I was a judge at this comp, most people that Know me, Know that if I am a judge at any comp, I more than likely either know the person both personally or have sung with or against over the many years I have traveled around the circiuts, the judges were many a local who has not seen the artists, a manager, and 2 hosts from different companys, as a judge I dont care if I know them, heard them sing before, heard the same song before, to me its the best on the night, maybe Danny should not have been in it, however at the time I wasnt informed of his gig, but I beleive his one & only show only started just resently & he only hires the rig for that one night so he doesnt have anymore practice than anyone else, so really the only practise he has is taking timeout to go bother other karaoke venues for his practice, as a judge I look at the point as Managment have karaoke gigs on for patrons to sing & have a laugh & fun at no charge, so when they have a comp & place alot of money up for winners, for some clubs that can least afford this at the time of refurnishing & knew smoking & poker machine laws they hope the judges get it right, I'm a very hard judge, as far as im concerned I dont know you, I'v never seen you before, & havnt herd you sing!, for the money you may recieve at the end of the night I exspect 1) You know the songs & dont look at the screen, (you are in a grand finals), 2) You dress either for the song or as your singing to inpress AUS Idel judges, (not thongs or flanelett shorts) 3) You perform and entertain whilst singing your song, (you are singing to the audience & judges not the screen or yourself, the floor or close your eyes & sing to yourself, in a grandfinals you are entertaining everyone!) if you use a prop either with hair, cloths,or musical instrument air guitar, or sit on somones lap or dance to the music that means you have prepared yourself ("it is a grandfinal") C NEXT COMMENT Find out which karaoke venue this feedback was written about, and read more singers' feedback as well as giving your own feedback on karaoke gigs you've visited, on Where2sing.com . . . |
