Dropped in last night for a look around. The poster on the wall of the venue said karaoke from 8:30. The bar staff said it starts around 9pm, a freind mentioned it kicks off about 9:30pm. The first song last night was at 10:15pm and only because that was the first time the host had been anywhere near the equipment since setting up. The sound for the jukebox music which played before the karaoke was awesome however this wasn't the case with the karaoke music itself.. The music sounded muffled and the microphones felt like they had been turned down too far. It was hard to hear yourself sing and almost impossible to hear the host calling a name between songs. Speaking of the host, he seemed to be a nice enough guy but not very dynamic. There was no attempt to engage the audience in any way other than to call the next singer. He gave the impression he was only there to call names and put the music on and would rather have been anywhere else but there. The singing list appeared to close very early (without warning) even though there were only a handful of singers.
