2nd RETURN VISIT Thurs 13 Mar 08 – STARTING TIME: I got there at advertised starting time of 8.30pm; went straight into the Showroom only to find the stage curtained off, dining tables were all nicely set up, candles on all tables, and some 30 people dining in the main karaoke floor-area, with more diners in the side booths and side dining room. Well, I thought that a function’s on and no one told me!! I headed out the front-door, and that’s when I saw the Hosts just pulling into the carpark!! It was then that I was told that the revised starting time had been 9pm for sometime now! There you go – so I was too early the last couple of visits, and they in fact started on time!! THE SONGLIST: When the songbooks were handed out, I noticed that the additional listing of 500+ songs available at my 1st return-visit was no longer available – what the?? – then I was told by KJ Aaron (who seems to follow me around) that the “rule” at that Venue is this – if a singer is to bring in own discs, those discs must also be made available to all other singers by providing a listing of them for all present. The last week, the additional 500+ songs were the private collection of JOSH’s (Vic karaoke-goers would know Josh). What a novel idea! I am NOT one who favours singers bringing in their own discs, but this certainly is a great “compromise” – Yes! Sure! Bring ‘em but share ‘em! Something to add to my arsenal of karaoke-deterrents.
