WKC 2008 Heat 4 Thursday 10April08 – Part II: Another well attended night (as well as one could get on a Thur karaoke night in Melbourne!) of 50+ people. They were all set-up and ready to go by 8.45pm but the Venue’s rule is that they cannot start until the 3-piece band playing in the adjoining huge dining hall has finished for the night, normally at 9pm – this band continued till 9.30pm! Good mix of songs and singers of varying styles and in-tune’ness. All contestants and non-competing singers only got the one song each, because Management wants them to finish early, at 11.15pm, so that staff can reset the room for a lunchtime function for the next day!! Talk about only half a night of fun! But I got what I went for – discussed some business with KJ Michael, found out a whole lot of stuff about 2 major operators, was able to hand out a couple of my “Comp-Ready” and “Karaoke-Kooking”!! At the end of the night, 4 contestants were called up, 2 to go into the Final, 2 as standbys in case the Winner and Runner-Up cannot perform on Final night : Again all were happy with the result, me included. Wonder what more improvement/s I will observe next week??
