Okay, this is not going to be everyone's cup of tea... This is more of a talent comp type thing so a singer entrant will be up against a range of other acts. The venue is running this themselves with a woman named Jessica in charge (Entertainment Mgr by the sounds of it). As such, while sound equipment will probably be decent, it will not be karaoke equipment. BYO discs and make sure they can be played in an ordinary CD player (no lyrics available obviously). There's a catch - every act must incorporate a yodel... They're running 2 heats, 04/07 & 11/07 with the final comprising of 5 people from each heat on 25/07. Judges will be Bianca Dye (radio personality), Diana Corcoran (country singer) and a member of staff. Given who the judges are and the yodel thing, entertainment factor is what's going to get you over the line here. It was mentioned that acts are to be up to 2 min and when I asked what happens after the 2 min, there wasn't much of a reply, more so for the un-structured acts so they don't go on for 10 min I guess, though take note they're obviously looking for something short and sharp. The prizes as listed are confirmed.
