Well now didn't know what to expect on arrival, these guys were all running around in FUNNY COSTUMES lol obviously having a ball, as an interstate visitor and host I attempted to introduce myself unfortunately the Host chose to ignore me, busy or not busy I find it genuinely exciting when interstate customers come & visit my gigs in WA anyway to each their own! Put my songslip in during first round & it was obvious when three other singers were called (that came in after me) that my selection was lost in that round & obviously when the new round started I felt a little unwanted at this very vibrant gig (boo hoo)! After 1.5hrs into this night I was called up and the patrons gave me a great welcome the sad thing is as most Karaokeers know, when you are received in a strange venue rather "coldly" & miss out during a round most of us have a tendency to vote with our feet and in my case the meal that I had on this night and the rest of my pocket money went elsewhere! This seems to be a fantastic venue with a great regular crowd the sound on stage was superb, however I think he has his CAVS Player overloaded as performance is somewhat out of sync, FOH vocals and backing were giving the operator problems but as the night progressed got a bit better other than that the regular crowd were getting into the fun of the theme with dancing & singer support it is unfortunate the operator was so uninteresting but lets face it if this was a regular Sunday maybe he doesn't want to encourage too many TOURISTS urghh! If I chose to live in the region I might make this my regular but as a visitor I can only say I'd be thinking twice before returning, good luck to them all & I hope Kapai is having a better day!
