Saturday night, and this was our third venue to check out on our trip to Brisbane from Melbourne. We got just after 9pm, and the place was alive. A crowd of between 30-40 in attendance. Was really looking forward to this gig as we were going to catch up with Tricia and the Funda Down Under crew, and Vic and Rosalie. I put in a song, got a drink at the bar and we went outside to the smoking area where we were introduced to Tricia, Vic & Rosalie. We were greeted and treated like longtime friends. My song was called up after about 30-40 minutes. Staff were friendly, Songlist was good, Sound was good, Audience appreciative and particpatory. Although not a large crowd, everyone seemed to be having a great time. Dotted around the room were the stereotypical karaoke types - the junkies, the complainers, (when is it my turn), some that appear very shy, but when they get up to sing become a different person, and absolutely beam when applauded - and one or two that didn't seem to interested in anyone else in the room except themselves. All in all, I though this was the best we saw on the weekend. A gig well worth attending.
