(IN 2 PARTS....) Although I met Jason, Everything Entertainment's KJ for this gig, several years ago in a Bondi Junction karaoke gig, and have run into him at many karaokes up until a couple of years ago, I hadn't seen him previously host. I was amused by his being referred to, at one stage, as the 'karaoke nazi', and have followed with interest his comments and reviews of judging competitions and of becoming a host. However, I was not prepared at the inaugural night of this gig to encounter a slim, youthful and highly active Jason as host. Along with the missing third of Jason has obviously gone any 'nazi' trait, replaced by a host who is very much on-the-ball, has professional presentation and a very quick hand on the sound balance. His patter is also spot on, just enough humour to keep his audience interested and comfortable without trying to be funny, pitched very well at the level of his crowd, and with a song rotation that seemed both accurate and well explained as he announced the next two or three singers.
