From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 8pm-Midnight on Thursdays (IN 3 PARTS...) I have a bit of a soft spot for All About Entertainment's gigs, because I frequented theirs several years ago - delightfully nothing has changed, and this venue is fully representative with a retro 'karaoke in the corner of the pub'. Black cloth covering the console and, well, actually not very much gear. A wonderfully ancient monitor with serious screen discolouration on the left side facing the audience, a tiny and exceedingly battered extra monitor set at an angle for the singer, and a mic that has to be extracted oh so very carefully from the mic stand in order that the raggedly taped lead does not come adrift. Two speakers of a size that would have looked more at home at a friends' karaoke party but actually pumped out a quite reasonable sound, notwithstanding significant feedback late in the night that the young host attributed to the disc player. The host was also standard All About fare, dressed to impress in casuals and sneakers of indeterminable vintage, and wearing a vague expression that didn't interrupt the fun that the rest of us were having - he did his job well, receiving song requests, quite often getting the song right, and just audibly announcing the next singer.
