From the Where2sing.com singers' feedback on karaoke gigs: This karaoke gig runs weekly 9pm-1:30am on Saturdays Several years ago I went to Entain's gigs, and they had one host who knew what he was doing with sound, and had great hosting skills if sometimes a little disorganised. Following that, some expert advised them to place their speakers well forward of the stage, and from that point and despite foldback, the sound has been disappointing. At this venue the footy-watching crowd mostly disappeared when the karaoke started in a corner of the main bar at around 9:30 (yes, late), but that corner was filled with 20-30 karaoke devotees. The songlist has improved since a few years ago but is probably still well under par in its selection in today's market. The sound was muddy and overshadowed by the noisy crowd. Even the couple of in-tune singers seemed unable to get much clarity or volume going, and when I sang I found the same problem - no matter how I held the mike or bellowed, the sound was muddy, without clarity or tone, and seemed lost in an audience that was only a metre or so away. This is a venue for people who like karaoke but whom are really there to chat, drink and have karaoke as a background noise. However, it's a normal friendly crowd, high drink prices as befits the area, pleasant venue, and on-street free parking at that time. I passed an Everything Entertainment gig on the way to this one, and I wouldn't make that mistake again. Entain has been in business for years, and perhaps the only question is how it can get its sound so wrong for such a long time.
