miss_mistletoe...
I extend my belated greetings and also welcome you to the forum (my visits here are sporadic). Nice to see some fresh blood here.
I think Leather Baron has stated it well that often someone will make a comment (not even necessarily karaoke related) and next thing you know, people are having heated discussions about it for a week or more (and often, somewhere down the track, someone re-ignites the whole thing). It seems like such a waste to me.
I think you and I may have graduated from similar schools of thought in our wishing to spend time more valuably and avoiding unnecessary drama when possible.
Enjoy your weekend. Perhaps our paths will cross some time around the traps, perhaps not (''Johnny B'' is the name I go by at karaoke too). In either case, nice to see you here. :)

Whilst I hate the cold, I'm actually glad for this sudden snap in Sydney as it suits one of my song choices at the Chatswood RSL grand final tonight almost to a tee. Now all it needs is to rain and I'm set! I just hope I get to sing that song and don't get knocked out in the first round. Hey! It's possible!
I said I was going to exercise to trim down some more for this comp but I have been way too busy this week (which SUCKS) so, wardrobe will just have to be ''same old, same old'' casual and not the comp clothes of old. Bother!
This means I will also have some buttons to sew back on to the clothes I WILL be wearing and Shock; Horror! I'll actually have to IRON them! lol. It's been so long since I've used my iron I can't remember where I put it... (and save the golf jokes, guys, I've thought of them already!). I'm normally with Johanna Griggs' philosophy that any wrinkles that don't come out from body heat or in the clothes dryer just weren't meant to be shifted.
I think I've killed my voice through over use today already so I hope I'm okay with the singing tonight. I was showing off for a babe who turned up unexpectedly. Heheheh. I'm so shallow! lmao. First, I ran through my song choices for tonight, then decided to find songs in all the genres I like and even repeated a couple of songs - but up or down the octave from before.
Besides, it was nice to give the singing my all even without a stage.

Re the name getting story: LOL
