From the Where2sing.com forum:

Catman: Never got the chance to see Sinatra but, just as a matter of interest, my friend Terry, who has just started coming to St Pats, actually played either drums or percussion (I can't remember which) at the concerts Sinatra did here when he had all the trouble with the unions.

Fancy you still having the ticket, could be worth a bob or two!!

Kititude: I believe that all of the arts come down to personal taste. Perhaps why talent quests always manage to create so much controversy. With 2000+ albums and 400+ cds, I listen to a large variety of music. Of course there are genres of music that I am not overly partial to, but I can appreciate any performer that can execute them well. An example in my case would be rap. Although not something that I would listen to very often, I admire anyone that can perform it. It is certainly a fine tuned skill, (I have tried it at home with dismal results making it a new form of rap with the title missing a letter).

I agree, it would be a boring old world if we all liked the same thing. Even when singing, I like to try different styles of music. I have seen many karaoke singers who tend to stick with a particular genre or artist/s, nerves probably being the major factor. My advice, branch out. The possibilities are endless.

I have often been asked which is my favourite song to sing. This is a question I could never answer. There are just too many choices. When working I sing a number of songs that I would happily never sing again. That's why I enjoy karaoke so much, as it gives me the opportunity to sing what I love and not what is required to earn a living.
