Ta for the compliment, mate. I don't know about outstanding but it's appreciated, all the same! lol

Adam (& all)...
As a songwriter interested in actually becoming rich and famous through my music, I made it my business to analyze hit songs also. This computer program has me slightly worried as in my research, I believe I did find the secret to what makes a song not only a hit but a #1 song (in the west) and as it says in that article, it doesn't matter what genre of music it's written in. For my pop numbers, I have written them accordingly but thankfully, it doesn't mean songs will suffer conformity in terms of being boring or even sounding alike.
It is maths - though I didn't approach it in such a way as math really isn't my strong point. However, music is mathematically based. There is a formula for determining how strings on an instrument must tighten or loosen to create each note. Same as filling identical glasses with water for hitting them to get different notes.
Many people who've heard some of my stuff have commented on how catchy the songs are and I've even had people start singing a couple right after hearing them, so I am absolutely convinced that I am right in my theory. Of course, it's not just the math but also the marketing. You might have the greatest song in the world but unless the majority of the buying public get to hear it, you're not going to have a hit with it.
Karaoke will be my testing waters when I've got enough stuff recorded. I'll be making karaoke versions of the songs just to see what the feedback is since as we all know, karaoke attracts all types. Seems a smart way to get an initial feel for the market by visiting several venues with one's music. Of course, the lyrics will be on screen too, cos I hate when people just take regular CDs and the audience feels kind of left out if they've never heard the song before.
I just hope I get to take advantage of my theory before these people figure out how to use their program effectively. It's one thing to analyze the hits. It's another to actually interpret the data accurately though so, there should be some time before our music gets computerized.
