| From the Where2sing.com forum: WELL Well well !! , perhaps the lyrics from the song '' i wish i was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair ' is so spot-on and true with the music and songs of today , where has all the' fire 'and the need for social change that music once was such an important part of in the youth of its generation ? , why you may ask am i making this statement , well i've just heard that a quite few songs that will domanate the summer months are songs from the distant past ...ie... from the 50's + 80's we have 'Westlife ' releasing .... Now Wait For It .....The ROSE plus wait there is more ....Shannon Noll & Natalie Braitalwait ( sp? ) releasing one of my fav songs from the 70-80's ........Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush classic song ..' don't give up '.....BUT Wait there's more .....Delta Goodrem & Westlife releasing ...Airsupply 's great song.....i'm all out of love '................This makes me wonder , is it just 'this time of year ' or the youth are not such a great market anymore and record companies know that the real money is with the over ' 40' group , gee's i'm 48 yo and the last thing i want is music dragged up from the past as much as i love these tunes so come the youth of this generation get angry , get loud , get writing and demand your world YOU want to live in .....
