Kittitude...
I am sure I am going to cop it for this but here goes.........
No offence but methinks you focus on the negatives a little too much.
From her self deprecating comments on her looks and age to defending the men I had referred to as ''losers'' to the generosity of offering to buy me a latte, it's clear to me miss_mistletoe was being positive natured in that post to which you refer and yet the one thing you paid attention to was her statement about status which I think you have taken out of context. The focus was not on status and ''blowing [her] own horn'' but how hard it can be to find a good match.
miss_mistletoe also thanked you in her previous post for your invitation, which she didn't have to do. The woman has manners, obviously, which is synonymous, virtually, with class.
All these positive points and yet you decide to look for what's wrong?
As for this anonymous person whom you only SUSPECT to be posting stuff about you and don't actually KNOW for certain, I suggest letting it go. If someone's too afraid to face you over an issue, it's pointless trying to intimidate them into doing so.
Sorry Kittitude, I understand that you are probably sincere in your wishing to face them given your invitation here. That's fine on the surface but given that you've just made a public declaration (to the forum rather than the specific person) about how open you are to discussing matters with this person, that's actually intimidation because now, the person who doesn't want to face you probably just sees the risk of public humiliation if they do now. IMHO, you just killed any chance of their ''coming clean'' as you put it. That's assuming you were even correct in your deduction as to their identity.
Believe it or not, I am trying to be positive here. Evaluate what's right before you focus on what's bad. If you're the kind of person who can have a fantastic day only to let one trivial thing that night ruin it all for you, you need to put a stop to that negativity for your own happiness. Keep it in perspective. 10 good things vs 1 tiny bad thing = something good, not rotten.
That's a whole lot of words meant to convey the very simple message: ''Chill.''
Let's keep things karaoke related, eh?

miss_mistletoe...
I am sure you are quite capable of defending yourself (if you were bothered enough to try, of course), so I hope I have not over-stepped my bounds in vouching for you here given that I know neither you nor Kittitude. I just don't like what I see as unfair criticism, no matter at whom it is directed and decided to speak up as is my wont.
=)
