As much as I hate it, Sony BMG have a sure-fire formula for number one smash hits each year with Idol. However, they work really hard for it and if this years crop is partnered with quality bands and great original Australian songwriters [ not that bloody Swede who wrote the last couple of Idol hits ] then I'll be ponying up.
Delta: She worked hard and planned a strategy of appearing on soapies to build her profile but backed it up with real talent that was aimed at the best demographic for music purchasing - young teenagers. Pop works better on CD than rock, rock really needs to be seen live to get the best out of it.
