| From the Where2sing.com forum: Geez, it sounds like you guys think i must spend the whole 5 hours at Chatswood threatening every patron to vote, or else. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but these days i rarely have to mention W2S at all. No disrespect to David, because this website has admirably filled a gaping niche, but i really do have better things to do!!
If you must know, & i'm only guessing myself, but i think the secret to Chatty's success can be attributed to a mixture of the following things:
1) A sizeable base of loyal regulars, that are kept happy by a Host/Venue combination that actually cares.
2)Location - Sydneys north shore is close enough to the city for the workers & far enough away from the city for the residents.
3) Because of 2). many have multiple access to a computer & arent afraid to use them.
David might like to confirm this, but i suspect that Chatty voters might represent an abnormally high percentage of 'subscribers' as well, not that this should make a difference the way the votes are calculated, but it does mean that Chatty voters would be more inclined to revisit the site more often.
Just for fun, I might actively promote W2S over the next few weeks & see what we can achieve when we really try. David, you might like to monitor the effect & report back in a more official capacity if anyones interested. I know i would be.
BTW David................ I trust the 'new' vote structure was'nt established just to peg back Chatty to the rest of the field ? After all, you know what Sir Walter Lindrum did when the World Billiards heirarchy 'fiddled' the rules............. He just modified his game & continued to dominate because he had no equal .LOL sing with me now.. (Oh looord it's hard to be humble)
