From the Where2sing.com forum:

Hi everyone

I was talking to a friend of mine this morning on the phone about different karaoke shows and what has gone on this year with karaoke and we were discussing how much bitching and back biting has gone on, especially this year at a lot of karaoke shows that both this friend and I go to. Has the fun gone out of karaoke? I hope not. I know I have been guilty of some bitching both here on this forum and at karaoke shows and when I think about it, it is taking the fun out of the shows that I go to. So I am going to make an early New Year's resolution to at least TRY to stop bitching about things and get on with the fun of karaoke. Is anyone else willing to do the same?

I could have put this on to 'Boliling Point' but I am not going to hide behind the anonymity of that section. I am saying what I have to say out in the open. To me, karaoke is about going to a particular venue, getting up and singing and having some fun, meeting up with the friends that I have made along the way, and in general having a good time. To be honest I am sick of hearing how one person has done something wrong to another one and everyone is taking that person's reputation and tearing it to shreds. Yes there have been people who have done the wrong thing by me (and they know who they are) and the way that I am handling that is that I no longer talk to them, I can't be bothered with them.

In 25 days time, it will be the start of a brand new year (frightening thought especially given the way that this year has flown past) however why don't we ALL make it a year when the bitching stops and the fun starts again.

Have a good day everyone.
