From the Where2sing.com forum:

I've long suggested to hosts and venues that they consider their night's total 60 or so songs as a valuable 'time' commodity, and consider that the singer who is going to stay for the whole night will want a song within every hour and a half - that's from my observation of the time limit of less than two hours' wait at which point singers either drift off, are no longer inclined to sing, or just don't return.

(On the other hand, a venue like Chatswood RSL which is known for a long wait but balances it by providing excellent sound, excellent stage and auditorium, and an appreciative crowd, and you can satisfy many singers with just one guaranteed and one 'possible' song per night).

So that means 60 song slots available divided by 2-3 songs per person per night will support only 20-30 singers. So the real question about attendance figures for venues is how many non-singers they can attract for the 'cost' of every singer.
