From the Where2sing.com forum:

Tom .... I agree.....The truly woeful should be turned down a little to the audience & maybe the foldback (if there is any) could be turned up a notch. That way everyone's happy . It's what I used to do when I was running gigs , & no-one I turned down a bit ever complained to me about the sound level , yet the rest of the venue was still able to function . In fact , when I had a really good singer , I generally used to turn them up a bit , If I looked around the room & found most people were watching & listening. It comes down to the host/techie being in touch or aware of the situation , a trait sadly lacking at far too many karaoke shows. But Garry seems sharp enough .Have you spoken to him directly about this ? or is it too difficult a subject to broach outside this forum. I know it can be ''dicing with danger' to aproach some hosts about the sound at ''their'' show. It needs to be done extremely delicately & tactfully , or you might come across as an arrogant smart-arse , as I've learned (the hard way) over the years.....Good Luck ....
