From the Where2sing.com forum:

Let me get this right Tom, you moved across the road from a pub and you don't expect noise? Even going as far as ringing the council?
Now I'm not out to have a go at you but this sort of nonsensical attitude is what gets alot of great nights out cancelled.
Why move across the road from a pub if your afraid of noise or lots of people?
I say if you decide to live across the road from a pub that has been there for years before you, then either deal with it or move.
Why should it be up to the pub model itself around your needs? No one forced you to move across the road.
As long as the pub follows the basic laws set out I don't think you have anything to complain about.
I have bought a sound metre for half of my venues because of whinging neighbours who have now had to deal with the noise as it is almost impossible for a karaoke to reach 80db over the ambient noise.
Sorry Tom its a sore point :)
Cheers,
Rob.
