I agree with Tom that really bad singers should be banned from singing at karaoke and taking up valuable time and thereby denying Karaoke punters and others who have done their homework. The other reason is the risk of bar takings and karaoke canned. And also my own interest. I o not wish to spend money and valuable nights at places that mostly annoy me just because I yearn to sing.
I just cannot be spending so much time in the toilets , smoking area (even though I don't smoke) and visits to the car to kill time and await my time.
And just to clarify by bad singers I don't mean people who cannot sing (there are plenty of them) but idiots who mutilate a song to the nth degree and think nothing about it and some who drive the patrons away. Some pubs now play regular music blarring outside with karaoke inside. They are too ashamed blarring their live karaoke for fear of driving patrons away.
