I'm not talking about Chats RSL which has no sound that encroaches outside its building. I referred to the Orchard pub and Monkey Bar. The Orchard used to have conventional pub & garden but remodelled to a hard floor opening to an expanded garden. The result is a wind tunnel effect. Even their mere pub TV/HiFi is now booming out, let alone a live show. I would estimate nearly 60 balconies now experience dramatically increased sound from them. And pubs stay open late. The Monkey Bar is part of our apartment building. They got their license on the provision of no allowance for live entertainment but then sought to gain such. Council blocked it. It would have been insomnia for the 40 dwellings because the bass sound would transmit through the foundations. I relate this to karaoke merely to point out that sound and industrial deafness have become issues. We should be aware of our input. Hell, I too can sing nearly as loud as anyone else through a mic. Technique is about matching the backing, not breaking glasses. Tom
