Tricia.... I'm surprised you haven't yet made any comments on the ''3 peeves'' subject , as you were the one who put the suggestion forward....
I guess if a venue itself pisses you off, it's not actually the fault of those running the Karaoke , but nevertheless , it's hard to seperate it. I've been to One World Sport a couple of times recently , once on a sunday & once on a thursday & was surprised at how few people there were there , especially early (busier later) . 2-3 beatiful young ladies seem to be running it , all with wonderful voices (only 1 the same present on both nights ...Johnny B you might want to check this one out !) , the sound was excellent , the decore modern & classy , it seems a good teens & twenties hang-out...why weren't there more people there . The food & drinks were pretty expensive , but hey , I don't mind paying for quality . The men's toilet did disturb me though .There is a ''Waterfall Wall'' , for gentlemens (& other !) convenience & the damn thing just didn't stop flushing . For someone who's very conscious of water conservation , I found this very irritating ! But hey , I'm there for the Karaoke , so get over it & get on with it !
I buy myself a Smnf Black & return to my table & I'm called up to sing. I leave my drink at the table & go & do my best (worst?) with the microphone . When I return ... NO DRINK !! .... I go to the bar & ask did anyone clear away a 3/4 full Smnf Ice ? ....''yes , we thought you'd gone''.... actually , no , I was up singing ... they (very) reluctantly gave me another , but shock ! horror !...incredibly exactly the same thing happened an hour later , only this time there was no replacement drink . Now I know you shouldn't leave drinks unattended these days , (but hey , it's not like leaving an unattended suitcase at the airport !) but I would of thought the staff might give someone a chance to come back & claim their drink , especially at a Karaoke gig , where the drink owner might likely have left their drink for a song , & ESPECIALLY the second time , same table , same bar staff , same 3/4 full drink , same person up singing a song (ME !) ....I spent nearly $60 on a meal & 3 drinks ...I'd like to think the staff would look after my interests... I don't know , maybe they're trying to send me a message ... anyone over 40 not welcome ??... I like the sound , the atmosphere & the girls there , so I guess I'll try & learn from this & return , but that episode really gave me the ''sit & spits''....
